  1. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has designated 30 April as International Jazz Day to bring attention to jazz and its ability to unite people worldwide in a diplomatic manner.
  2. World Veterinary Day is annually celebrated across the globe on the last Saturday of April to raise awareness about the veterinarians and their utmost devotion to animal health, welfare, and public health. In 2023, it was observed on 29 April. The theme of World Veterinary Day 2023 is “Promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusiveness in the Veterinary Profession”. 
  3. Indian-American Neeli Bendapudi, the President of Penn State University, will be honoured the 2023 Immigrant Achievement Award for her significant contributions to higher education in the United States.
  4. Indian professional mountaineer and Fit India champion Arjun Vajpai has become the first Indian man to summit Mt. Annapurna 1, which is also the 10th highest mountain peak in the world at 8,091 metres (26,545 ft) above sea level in Nepal.
  5. SpiceJet, one of India’s leading airlines, on 27 April, 2023 announced the appointment of Arun Kashyap as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO) with effect from 12 June, 2023.
  6. India and the United Kingdom on 26 April, 2023 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for collaboration on science and innovation at the UK-India Science Innovation Council meeting, chaired by UK Science Minister George Freeman and Indian Minister of State for Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh.  
  7. On 28 April 2023, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) in collaboration with National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED) launched the first ever ‘Millets Experience Centre (MEC)’ at Dilli Haat in New Delhi.
  8. Global power technology company, Cummins Inc, has entered into a definitive agreement with Tata Motors Ltd to manufacture a range of low-to-zero-emissions technology products in India.
  9. Five cadets of the Officers Training Academy, Chennai made history on 29 April, 2023 when they became the first women officers inducted into the Indian Army’s Regiment of Artillery.
  10. According to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Annual Report 2022, Pakistan has become the largest recipient of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) funded programmes/projects in the year 2022.
  11. The 68th edition of the Hyundai Filmfare Awards in association with Maharashtra Tourism announced Rajkumar Rao as the Best Actor (Male) for the film ‘Badhaai Do’.
  12. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘NAMO Medical Education and Research Institute’ in Silvassa town, located in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.
  13. A workshop on Indian Cinema was inaugurated at the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre in Colombo on 28 April, 2023.
  14. Fifteen experts, including Udai Tambar, an Indian-origin CEO working on youth development services in the United States, have been selected to serve as members of New York City’s newly formed racial justice advisory board.
  15. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI)’s subsidiary, NPCI Bharat BillPay Ltd (NBBL), has launched the NOCS platform to provide reconciliation and settlement services for transactions made on the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) network.
  16. Shivalik Small Finance Bank has announced a strategic partnership with Arya.ag, India’s largest grain commerce platform, to provide financing to small farmers against warehouse receipts.
